agent identity

In short: An agent identity is a distinct, verifiable identity given to an AI agent, separate from the person or service it works for. Systems can recognise the agent, apply policy, revoke access and record actions. They see more than a borrowed user token or shared key.

Where does it show up in practice?

Okta registers agents in Universal Directory, and Microsoft gives agents an identity through Entra Agent ID.
